Making an Impression in 'Sin City'
Danny performs live five nights a week in Las Vegas, the place known as "Sin City," but by the end of his show, the crowds have heard his own voice and his own message.
"I knew my life had to change," Danny says, "so my wife and I began to pray for a miracle."
He tells how he had spent 200 days a year on the road away from his family and how he changed that and his priorities when his daughter drew him a picture.
"In this picture, you saw my wife, our three kids, and our dog, Sadie, on a hill," Danny explains. "I said to my daughter, 'Honey, where is Daddy in the picture?' And she pointed to the airplane with a face looking through the window. That was her impression of Daddy, the guy on the road in the airplane."
Once Danny began to trust God with his entertainment career, it took off. But this was not the first time that God had intervened in his career plans. Danny's original dream was to play professional baseball.
"I signed out of college," he says. "I was on my way, leading the minor leagues in home runs. It looked like I was going to make the big leagues. But I was playing first base and a guy running down the line spiked my heel and severed my Achilles tendon. I had immediate surgery that night, and my career was over."
Gans tells his audiences how God sent him a messenger in the form of a fellow patient in the hospital.
"I'm here to tell you that God has another plan for you, something that will be fulfilling and rewarding for you, and you'll touch more lives. I don't know what that is, but it's not baseball," the mystery patient encouraged Danny.
The end of Danny's dream was the beginning of God's purpose in his life.
Danny Gans has received many accolades, including Entertainer of the Year, Headliner of the Year, Critic's Choice, and People's Choice. He has also recently released a single recording called "My Lord, My Life."
"If you put things in priority, your life is going to be blessed," says Danny. "My priorities are God first, family second, and career third. It's amazing what the Lord will do if you put it in His hands."
