The Story of Moses Gave Her Strength!

Thirteen-year-old Joy enjoys watching SuperBook with her mother and younger brother. 

Joy said, “SuperBook is a great representation of the Bible. The animations are great. Gizmo is funny! And it gives you a better picture of how, ‘Oh, this is how it happened.’”

Joy’s mother, Elizabeth, explained, “Joy has always been a reader, so when she started watching SuperBook, it made more sense to her. It gave her more meaning. Since watching SuperBook, I’ve seen Joy’s faith grow. Each and every episode that we watch, we try and say, ‘What do you learn from this?’”  

Life hasn’t always been easy for their family. When her parents separated, Joy faced one of the most difficult times of her life.

As Joy choked back tears, she said, “Every single time I think about this, my voice all of a sudden becomes shaky because all those memories flood back in of when my dad was not the best dad to me. It was a very tough time.” She recalled how a SuperBook story encouraged her, “The episode of Moses where he had to split the ocean really helped me, taught me how to be strong, and just to follow instructions. It just shows that even through tough times God will always be with you and make a solution for you. And that’s how life went for me when I was going through my tough time. I never gave up, prayed every night, and things ended up well with me now. And I’m very happy, especially with Mom.”

Elizabeth said, “I want to thank all the people who made SuperBook possible, all the donors. This has been a very great impact for my kids.” 

Joy added, “A very big ‘thank you’ to the SuperBook producers for making the show. I highly recommend kids starting to watch it. SuperBook just makes it different, more understanding, and I’m really thankful for that.”
