From Orphanage to Big Dreams

Twelve-year-old J-Bee from Nigeria has big dreams for his future.

“I am inspired to become a neurosurgeon,” he says. “And one day, I hope to become the President of Nigeria.”

But J-Bee’s story didn’t begin with ambition—it began with abandonment and uncertainty. As a baby, he was often left unattended for hours in an abandoned building before being brought to Facado Orphanage, where his life would take a new direction.

Mama Ngozi, who leads the children’s home, remembers the moment she first met him.

“When Mama Ngozi held him in her arms, she knew she had to take him in,” she explains. “But the children’s home was already bursting at the seams.”

Despite limited resources, she chose to care for him anyway.

“We were struggling just to feed the children, pay their medical bills, and keep them in school,” Ngozi said. “Even though we didn’t have much, we bought milk and started caring for him.”

That same year, a new source of support arrived—Operation Blessing’s Orphan’s Promise ministry began partnering with the home. That support has continued uninterrupted for more than a decade, helping provide stability and care for J-Bee and dozens of other children.

“I am very grateful to Orphan’s Promise for their support,” Ngozi said. “Because of this help, we can care for the children properly.”

Today, that support provides more than 40 children with hot meals, education, shelter, and a safe place to grow. It also brings something deeper—hope through the message of the Gospel, shared through CBN’s Superbook.

J-Bee personally encountered that message at a young age.

“I gave my life to Christ at six,” he said. “I love watching Superbook and playing the drums and keyboard to worship God.”

With consistent education and care, J-Bee is now excelling in school—something his caregivers say is a direct result of the support he has received.

“That little boy I once carried in my arms is making us proud and growing into a fine young boy,” Mama Ngozi said.

As J-Bee continues to grow, Orphan’s Promise also helped encourage his developing leadership by providing a bicycle for transportation and errands around the home.

Looking ahead, J-Bee is focused not only on his own future—but on giving back.

“When I grow up, I want to help children just like Orphan’s Promise helps us,” he said. “God bless you for giving me a future!”
