Spreading Joy Through Music and Generosity

Native New Yorkers Stevie and Peggy Suglia met in Florida and married in 2017. Stevie’s a DJ, bringing clean, uplifting dance music and worship songs to parties, weddings, and church events for over 35 years. Stevie says, “I love interacting with people, when they're out on the dance floor. They really enjoy the mix of music, especially when I throw in some worship music too.” Although he learned about tithing as a boy, when Stevie started his DJ career, tithing wasn’t a priority. Stevie recalls, “I wasn't getting jobs and my father said, because you're not tithing, you gotta tithe on that. I started to tithe and I started to get more gigs, more jobs, word of mouth got out there. And then it clicked, you know, with the tithing, it wasn't just giving the money to the Lord, it was also worshiping, serving him, glorifying him, saying, ‘thank you Lord’.”

Ever since that time, Stevie has made it a point to put God first when it comes to finances, something he and Peggy agreed on when they married. Stevie says, “If you wanna be blessed, you have to trust, you have to have the faith.” Peggy states, “Well I liked CBN because I likes what you do. I saw that you were reaching out to many people, and countries and, I thought it was a good fit.” Stevie also says, “Some churches you tithe or you put money in the donation box, but you don't know where that money's going. At least with the 700 Club, you know exactly where it's going. It's going to go for the orphanage or the water filters or to build homes or whatever. That that brings joy to me.”

Peggy, who works in the children’s ministry at her church, is especially moved by the stories of CBN helping children through Operation Blessing and Orphans’ Promise. Peggy says, “They come in and help and serve. I feel good because I'm part of that helping too, so that's really good.” They also value CBN News for its truthful reporting. Stevie states, “What I love about the 700 Club, the news segments, is they're honest. You don't see those on the regular stations.” The Suglias still enjoy watching the 700 Club daily, encouraged by the positive programming. Stevie says, “The stories from the 700 Club do give me inspiration. Whether it's God healing them or blessing them, that's what inspires me. We just increased our donations with CBN.” They believe that partnering with CBN is investing wisely in God’s kingdom. Peggy states, “I would encourage them to join because they're a good ministry. They reach out to people and you're helping, you're helping others and you're a part of it. So that makes you feel good.”

“Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.” Will you partner with CBN and help plant generously around the world? Your generous giving brings hope to the hopeless and the truth of God’s Word to millions around the world through our humanitarian efforts. Become a CBN partner today and share the love of Christ.
