Manow Discovers God’s Love
In a small town in Thailand, 11-year-old Netnapa—affectionately nicknamed Manow—grew up surrounded by quiet heartbreak. Her parents separated when she was just a baby. Her mother started a new family and never looked back, while her father was imprisoned during her early childhood. Raised by her grandparents in a modest home, Manow’s life was shaped by separation, financial hardship, and emotional confusion.
Her aunt became the backbone of the household—working tirelessly to support everyone and fund Manow’s education. But despite the love around her, Manow struggled. With few activities at home, she became attached to her mobile phone and developed a tough, tomboyish personality. She often spoke harshly to her grandparents and avoided helping with chores. At school, she was teased by other girls for playing mostly with boys, and she felt isolated and misunderstood.
Then came a turning point.
One of her classmates, Angpao, had come to faith through CBN Animation’s Superbook and invited Manow to church. Curious, she joined him and watched the “Miracles of Jesus” episode. She saw Jesus calm the storm and heal the sick. Then she heard Angpao’s testimony—how he had suffered from severe allergies and even lost his hearing, but God healed him.
That moment stirred something deep within her.
Manow prayed with her Sunday school teacher and accepted Jesus into her heart. From that day forward, her life began to change.
She started praying regularly. During a school exam, feeling unprepared and anxious, she prayed for God’s help. To her surprise, she passed with a satisfying score. She thanked God, feeling reassured that he was truly with her.
Then came a miracle she never expected: her mother, who hadn’t helped her in over ten years, suddenly reached out and offered to send her money every month. It wasn’t much—but to Manow, it was proof that God hears her prayers.
Another burden she carried was the teasing from other girls. She prayed for help in building friendships, and slowly, things began to change. The teasing stopped. She started connecting with other girls. As she shared this part of her story, her voice trembled, and tears welled up in her eyes. She thanked God for healing a wound that had weighed heavily on her heart.
Her transformation didn’t stop there. Manow’s once tough and blunt demeanor softened. She became more gentle, polite, and helpful at home. Her grandfather noticed the change:
“In the past, Manow used to speak very bluntly. Whenever we asked her to help around the house, she would often get irritated and even use rude language. But now, her tone has completely changed. She speaks kindly, helps us with chores, and even her school performance has improved. Ever since she believed in God, I feel like her life has truly gotten better.”
Through regular visits from the church ministry team, Manow’s grandparents also came to faith. Today, Manow has been attending church for nearly a year. She serves on the worship team, helps care for younger children in Sunday school, and actively invites her school friends to join church activities.
