Superbook Reaches Children in Remote Honduras
In late October, something extraordinary happened in a small community nestled in Copán, Honduras. Accessible only by dirt roads that often flood during the rainy season, this community faces many challenges. Families live with very limited resources, and even basic infrastructure like electricity is unavailable. Yet, in the midst of these hardships, hope arrived through CBN Animation’s Superbook.
Operation Blessing Honduras is currently building a water project to meet the essential needs of this community. As part of the holistic development effort, the Superbook team held an even at a local school to minister to the children in the community. For the 13 children from first to sixth grade who attended, this was no ordinary day—it was a day filled with learning, joy, and the life-changing message of God’s Word.
The team presented the Superbook episode “Roar!”—which tells the story of Daniel and the lions’ den—and shared a lesson teaching the importance of prayer and the assurance that God hears us. For most of these children, watching a video on a screen was a completely new experience. In a community without electricity, the opportunity to see Superbook come to life was nothing short of amazing. Their eyes lit up as they followed Daniel’s courageous faith, discovering that God is always with us—even in the hardest moments.
After the lesson, the children received a summary sheet, a coloring page of Gizmo, and enjoyed a snack of milk and cookies. These simple gifts brought smiles to their faces, but the greatest gift was the truth they learned: that prayer connects them to a loving God who listens and cares.
This was just the first of three planned visits. Soon, the team will return to continue sharing more lessons and more hope with these precious children.
