From Fear to Faith

In a small village in Thailand, a young girl named Phakwan faced the daily challenges of growing up in a family struggling to make ends meet. Her mother worked tirelessly, taking on various jobs such as digging up cassava and harvesting corn, earning less than $10 a day. Her father, a construction worker, often had to travel to other provinces for months at a time, leaving Phakwan's mother as the sole caregiver. Despite their hard work, the family's income was insufficient to cover their living expenses, and Phakwan's mother felt exhausted from the constant responsibility.

About a year and a half ago, Phakwan's great-aunt brought her to church. It was here that Phakwan discovered the animated series Superbook in her Sunday school class. Phakwan, who loves cartoons, quickly became captivated by the stories of the Bible brought to life through Superbook. She enjoyed making friends at church and found solace in the lessons she learned.

She was afraid of going to hell after death because she felt guilty about her mistakes and her behavior toward her mother. However, everything changed when she watched the Superbook episode "The Test," which is about the story of Abraham and Isaac. Through this episode, Phakwan learned about the importance of faith and redemption. When her Sunday school teacher asked who wanted to be saved and be with Jesus in heaven, Phakwan expressed her desire to accept Jesus and prayed with her teacher. This moment marked a significant turning point in her life. She now feels secure and at peace knowing that Jesus paid the price for her sins.

Phakwan's transformation didn't stop there. She used to be stubborn and disobedient, often using impolite language. But after attending Sunday school, watching Superbook, and receiving Jesus as her Savior, she began to change. She started speaking more politely, listening attentively, and helping with tasks both at home and in the church. Her behavior improved dramatically, and she became a source of joy and support for her mother.

Phakwan's journey from fear and guilt to faith and peace is a testament to the transformative power of CBN Animation’s Superbook. It shows how the stories of the Bible can bring hope, transformation, and faith to children and families, regardless of their cultural or religious background. Superbook has the potential to reach even more children like Phakwan, offering them a chance to connect with the Word of God and experience his love.
