Naturalized Citizen Planned US Military Base Attack

An Ohio man is appearing in court Friday on charges of plotting a terror attack on a U.S. military base. 

Abdirahman Sheik Mohamud, 23, was raised in Somalia and lived there most of his life. 

He became a U.S. citizen last year and was living in Columbus, Ohio.

Authorities say he traveled to Syria the same year to join an al Qaeda-affiliated terror group where he received training in weapons, explosive devices and hand-to-hand combat.
   
U.S. investigators say he wanted to do "something big" and vowed to "kill three or four American soldiers execution style." 

The FBI says he was planning to hit a military base in Texas and if that didn't pan out, he would stage a prison attack.
