'American Sniper' Breaks Box Office Records
Shattering box office records, "American Sniper" has brought in more than $90 million with its nationwide opening this past weekend.
The film is setting mega-records, including the largest January-February opening. It has topped Mel Gibson's "Passion of the Christ," which garnered $84 million during it's first release in 2004.
The Clint Eastwood-directed drama stars actor Bradley Cooper, who plays U.S. Navy Seal Chris Kyle -- one of the most lethal snipers in American history.
Based on a true story, Kyle served four tours of duty in Iraq. As he returned home to his wife and kids, he found it was the war he couldn't leave behind.
His wife Taya Kyle, played by actress Sienna Miller in the movie, is coming out with her own book in May titled, American Wife: A Memoir of Love, Service, Faith and Renewal.
Taya told People Magazine, the movie has brought her husband back to life.
