JERUSALEM, Israel – The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) and the Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) provide the non-Arabic-speaking world with translations of video clips and other material depicting Palestinian political and religious leaders’ incitement to violence.

One recent MEMRI post shows an imam, knife in hand during his Friday sermon in Rafah (near the border between the Gaza Strip and the Egyptian Sinai), calling on Palestinian Arabs to stab Jews.

A second video clip shows Hamas spokesman Mushir al-Masri brandishing a knife after admonishing all Arab factions to join the “Jerusalem intifada.”

The PMW focuses on Palestinian Authority video clips and other material that expose Mahmoud Abbas and other Fatah officials, as well as Hamas leaders, inciting the Arab population.

For example, Abbas referred to the knife- and gun-wielding pair who killed one Israeli and injured several others on a Jerusalem city bus Tuesday as “martyrs” who carried out “a shooting and stabbing operation.”

A second recent post shows Abbas justifying the recent wave of violence and a third shows Fatah officials claiming killing “settlers,” Israeli Jews living in Judea and Samaria, is both legal and a “national duty.”
