Names of Christ: Healer
This holiday season, let's reflect on this amazing truth—that God is our Healer.
Let's take a look at . God tells the Israelites, "I am the Lord who heals you."
He said, "If you will listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the LORD who heals you." ( NLT)
It is in this Scripture that God proclaims who he is—Jehovah Rapha.
Another Scripture that shows us God is our Healer is :
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” (NKJV)
This Scripture points to Jesus, the suffering servant, the One who bore our sins on the cross. And because of the stripes that He bore from the physical abuse He suffered, and ultimately His death on the cross, we are healed in every way, shape, and form.
Are you struggling with any pain in your body today? Are you suffering from any emotional pain, trauma, spiritual pain, or spiritual confusion? Let this truth sink into your hearts and minds today: God is your Great Physician. He is our life and the length of our days. And if we believe and trust fully in Him, we are healed from any infirmity and any iniquity that is against us.
