Taking Nothing for Granted!

Casey Cohn said, “Windows blown out, and the roof was popping up and down and you could see it.”

Hurricane Ida ripped through Louisiana with wind gusts up to 170 miles-per-hour. People like Casey Cohn and her husband could only pray as their homes were destroyed.

In tears, Casey recalled, “It was devastating. We thought we were going to lose our lives.”

They borrowed money from their 401k to fix the house, but they couldn’t afford to replace their appliances.

“We didn’t have anywhere to cook. We didn’t have anywhere to wash clothes. You know, we couldn't buy groceries because I didn’t have anything to put them in,” said Casey. “We all prayed that God would give us some guidance.”

God answered their prayers through people’s giving to Operation Blessing.

Casey said, “Some of the appliances I received were a refrigerator, a stove, a microwave, and a washer machine and dryer. It took my breath away because it was God sent.”

That puts Casey one step closer to being back on her feet.

Casey said, “It was really an amazing blessing, because without it you can’t really live. I don’t have the words to explain how wonderful and grateful we are to receive these items.”
