Not Chasing Money—Chasing Obedience: Andrew’s Tithing Test

At just 21 years old, Andrew Faligowski is running his own business—and he’s serving others in the insurance world.

“For our agency we really value just helping people the most,” Andrew says.

“A lot of my clients especially, even in the care facility, they don't have family that visits them or helps them out with their health insurance,” he explains. “So a lot of them even said that I feel like family to them where I can even talk with them, share stories and listen.”

Raised in a Christian home, Andrew learned early to honor God first—with every dollar. He’d tithed before—as a teen working part-time. But now, staring at his first career paycheck in his bank account, he had other plans. New stuff. A few splurges.

“I did put in like a lot of effort and work in order to get my first paycheck, you know, so it felt difficult giving that up,” Andrew admits. “It was, I was pretty much struggling too, especially people in high school saying about all the cool stuff they can get, like a new car or like apartment and stuff like that.”

Before giving to God, he figured Jesus wouldn’t mind if he spent a little on himself.

“I was thinking like, yeah, what, why wouldn't Jesus understand?” Andrew says. “I deserve to have like a new card. 'cause I worked really hard. I made a lot of sacrifices.”

After Googling, “What’s the secret to a happy life?” Andrew found Jesus’ teaching on the talents—and it changed how he saw money. He realized he was just a steward of what God had given him. Again, and again his research pointed him back to generoscity and trust in God, even though he still had doubts.

“I decided to tithe the anyways,” Andrew says, “and that was mainly because of that decision. I had to have faith in God.”

While his peers showed off their wheels, Andrew gave. Not because he had to—because he trusted God more than money.

“I think tithing is one of the most important things, or one of the most important struggles that a young man can have,” he says. “There's just so, so many tempting things… so many uses for your money that you could do. And that's such a huge sacrifice to be able to just say that you don't want the world, you want to focus on God.”

“You have to have the faith that when you give, even though it feels like you're getting nothing,” Andrew adds, “that you're gonna… that in the end it'll be worth it.”

Andrew made $20,000 that first year. By the end of his second year in business, Andrew’s income had multiplied fivefold.

“I really do feel like God has really blessed me,” he says.

“I started in high school and every single year after that it has doubled every single year—2023, 2024, and 2025,” Andrew explains.

“I found peace,” he adds. “I found like financial stability.”

Andrew faithfully tithes to his church and to missions. He loves giving to organizations that spread the Gospel and help children in need.
And when God prompts him to give— everything else, especially his work responsibilities seem to fall into place.

“It comes a lot easier to ask the right questions,” Andrew says. “I noticed I just built relationships so much easier… and they trust I'm doing the right thing.”

“I've been tithing like around 20% of my income or even more than that basically,” he adds. “I really felt like God has helped me a lot in my business, being closer with Him… having good relationship, talking with Him.”

For Andrew, tithing isn’t just about giving—it’s how he keeps God at the center of his life. He’s seen what happens when we test God’s promise… and trust Him completely. In 2025 alone, he brought in over $100,000 in commissions.

“I'm not chasing money,” Andrew says. “I'm chasing obedience.”

“It’s one of the most sacrificial and one of the best tests that you can pass for God is being a grateful giver,” he adds. “It’s basically like giving up your power and trusting that God will give you something back. And I've seen that happen.”
