"My children were terrified that the house would fall"

Sadith (sad-eeth’) is a single mother from Peru. She has struggled financially to provide for her four children.

As a result, the family had to live in a drafty shack after the children’s father abandoned them.

“Every time it stormed there were strong winds. My children were terrified that the house would fall,” Sadith told us. “We suffered a lot. I had to cook outside on an open fire, even when it rained.”

“We used to sleep on wood. When it rained we got wet," added Sadith’s daughter Calissa, eight.

When Operation Blessing learned about the family, we built them a new three bedroom house on a concrete slab. We also gave them new furniture including bunk beds. Soon it was time for the family to move in.

“I have my bathroom, a kitchen, and my bed!” exclaimed Calissa. “I like my new bed. We now have a pretty new house!” Sadith cried as we showed her around her new home.

“Thank you Operation Blessing. And thanks to God for giving us a new house!”
