One Viewing Changed Seven Lives
Growing up, Srey Ly was a curious child with big questions about the world around her. Looking up at the sky, she often wondered how it came to be—and who created people and animals.
“I guessed that Buddha created people,” she shared. “But I never got any confirmation. When I asked my parents, they said, ‘I don’t know,’ and brushed me off, saying why do you ask such weird questions?”
Searching for answers, Srey Ly even tried practicing Buddhism more seriously, hoping it might bring clarity.
“I tried to memorize the prayers,” she said. “But they are in Sanskrit. I do not know how to speak it, and it’s very hard to learn.”
Everything began to change when she was invited to an after-school program supported by Operation Blessing’s children’s initiative, Orphan’s Promise. There, she received academic support—and was introduced to the Bible through CBN’s Superbook.
“I watched the first episode where I saw God create the world,” Srey Ly said. “He also made animals and people. That’s when I learned that Jesus created everything. I felt so happy knowing that.”
After watching that episode, something shifted in her heart. Srey Ly prayed to become a Christian.
“I’m so happy,” she said. “I now know who created the world and all the people. And I want more people to be saved and go to heaven.”
Her new faith didn’t stop with her. Soon after, Srey Ly invited six of her friends to join the program as well. They watched Superbook together—and also prayed to become Christians.
“I am so happy that all of my close friends became Christians,” she said. “Now they will receive love and forgiveness from Jesus, just like me.”
Srey Ly also began sharing Bible stories with her family at home.
“My mom and dad like to hear me tell them about Superbook,” she said. “I am praying they will believe in Jesus just like me, and we’ll all go to heaven.”
For Srey Ly, what began as childhood questions has become a life transformed by faith—and a desire to share that hope with everyone around her.
“Thank you so much for bringing Superbook into my life,” she said.
