A Miracle Home for Margaret’s Family

When Margaret’s husband died, his family took their home, leaving her and her five children homeless.  They then moved into her mother’s house. 

“We only have two beds, so I share one with my daughter while the boys sleep on chairs or the dirt floor. My heart shatters daily seeing them sleep on the cold ground. Because of the dirt floor, bugs bite us while we sleep. The tin walls make nights really cold, and we don’t have enough blankets to keep us warm. We never get enough rest, and we start every day feeling tired.” - Margaret

Margaret works hard to provide for her family, doing various jobs like selling firewood, making charcoal, and farming.

“I earn about four dollars per day, which is not enough to provide for my family’s basic needs. I want to build us a home, but I know I could never afford it.” - Margaret

Despite her struggles, Margaret remains steadfast in her faith.

“I work twice as hard, just so I can always give an offering at church. I keep praying and believing God will give us a miracle.”- Margaret

Margaret is a beneficiary of Operation Blessing’s agriculture program in her community, so when learned about her struggle at home, your generosity helped build her a brand-new house.

“When the construction started, I was so excited I cried tears of joy. Now, my children no longer cough from the cold or dust and we breathe fresh, clean air. Before, no one wanted to go to bed early because it was so uncomfortable, but now, each with our own beds, we sleep in peace, warmth, and comfort. I wake up feeling rested and refreshed.” -  Margaret

Thanks to you, Margaret was also given access to land, seeds, and tools so she can grow food to feed her family, and sell the surplus crops at the market.

“The home and the farm have been such a blessing. With the profits I make I can pay my children’s school fees and provide for our needs. To everyone who made this possible, all I can give back to you is a big “Thank you!” I pray God will refill your pockets to overflowing. May He give you a long life, so you may bless other families like ours. God bless you for what you have done for us.” - Margaret
