Vicki Yohe Joins 'The One Church Tour'
CBN.com Nashville, TN – Dove Award nominee and acclaimed Praise & Worship artist Vicki Yohe is currently performing as a part of the “One Church Tour.” The tour, which kicked-off last week, combines the talents of Yohe along with several gospel music superstars—headliner and Stellar Award winner Kurt Carr & the Kurt Carr Singers, Stellar Award winner RiZen, Grammy Award winner Smokie Norful, and James Fortune & FIYA. During the concerts, Yohe is giving audiences a sampling of music from her highly anticipated new album He’s Been Faithful, which releases September 27, 2005 on CeCe Winan’s PureSprings Gospel label.
"I’ve always done solo dates, so I'm excited to be part of a tour that allows me to collaborate with artists that I genuinely love,” comments Yohe. “I just know we're going to have a great time fellowshipping with each other and ministering to the people we meet along the way."
Some of the people that the early dates have allowed her to minister in song to include the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The “One Church Tour” held a free concert at the Columbus Civic Center in Columbus, Ga. this past Thursday. Yohe and her tourmates dropped the ticket charge when they were informed that over 200 people that had to flee Louisiana due to the hurricane had found refuge in the city. The victims that attended the show were given special VIP seating for the night. Concert goers who had pre-paid for their tickets were also given the opportunity to contribute the purchase price to the hurricane relief efforts in lieu of receiving a refund. The tour continued on the next day to the Atlanta Civic Center - where ticket prices had been reduced for concert patrons, and $5 from each ticket purchased was donated to the American Red Cross' hurricane efforts.
On the home front, Vicki Yohe—who was raised in Louisiana—and her husband Troy, have many friends and family members who have been affected by the hurricane. Her family is making every effort to help in whatever way possible. In fact, they have turned the house which functions as the Vicki Yohe Ministries office into a home for longtime friends—Pastor Chip and Polly Radke of West Bank Cathedral in New Orleans—who have lost literally everything they owned.
“I was raised in Louisiana, so this tragedy has really affected me. The tour has allowed me to hear amazing stories of survival and has given me an opportunity to encourage people along the way,” comments Yohe about Hurricane Katrina. “During times like this people reach out to their church for assistance and strength, but for many their church home is gone. This is the time that the body of Christ must put into action what we have been called to do. It’s a time when we need to trust that God will provide for those in need, as well as enable His people to assist the needy.”
The “One Church Tour" is sponsored by For The Kingdom Entertainment. It is promoted by executive producer Mark Singleterry, who has partnered with Al Wash of ALW Entertainment on a number of tours, including "Evolution I & II," "Hopeville" and "Sisters in the Spirit."
Yohe is no stranger to the road. Throughout the years she has ministered in song alongside renowned pastors and evangelists such as Juanita Bynum, Benny Hinn, T.D. Jakes, Kenneth Copeland and The Brownsville Revival Team. Her travels have allowed her to make numerous television and radio appearances, including being a regular guest on the Trinity Broadcasting Network.
Outside of her active touring and ministry schedule, Vicki Yohe continues to prioritize time for mission work. Her outreach travels have taken her to Africa, Europe and Asia. In keeping with her commitment to put God’s word into action, she is in the planning stages of opening an orphanage in Uganda, Africa. The orphanage, which is scheduled to open its doors next month, will be a significant part of her Vicki Yohe Ministries organization.
He’s Been Faithful—the follow-up album to 2003’s I Just Want You, which featured the hit songs “Because of Who You Are” and “The Mercy Seat”—will be available September 27, 2005 on PureSprings Gospel and will be distributed by EMI Distribution.
