Saved By Her Daddy's Love

CBN.com There’s nothing quite like the love between a father and his daughter. Mr. Xing had two daughters, and he cherished them more than anything else in the world. Tragically, he lost one daughter to cancer, and then his eldest daughter Yajie was diagnosed with very serious heart trouble.

"Every day, I worried for my daughter that she would faint and die. I could not bear being far away from home and not know how she was doing," says Mr. Xing.

Mrs. Xing remembers too, "I was sick with worry about my daughter.  I cannot describe my feeling in a word. I was watching other kids playing outside, but my daughter just lie in bed. I tried to give her good food to make her better, but she still suffered."

Yajie spent many days in bed because of the pain. When she tried to walk to school, she often fainted. Sometimes her heart stopped beating altogether.

"My chest felt tight. I could not breath. I wanted someone to help, but nothing stopped the pain," remembers Yajie. "I felt so sorry for my parents because they worried and cried all the time for me. I tried to comfort them and say, "I will be your healthy and good daughter forever.' "

Several times Yajie’s parents rushed her to the hospital when her heart stopped beating. The doctors revived her. But the truth was, without surgery, Yajie would eventually die. The surgery she needed was very expensive --far more than the Xings' could afford.

"I felt so tired and hopeless. I would have done anything to save her. I could not work hard enough to afford this surgery. The doctors warned us that the longer she went without surgery, the more dangerous the situation would become," says Mr. Xing.

"I spent my days in tears. I had lost one daughter, and now I was watching another daughter die, and I could not save her," says Mrs. Xing.

Mr. Xing’s brother wrote a letter to a local charity asking for help. They couldn’t afford the surgery but forwarded the request to CBN. CBN provided free heart surgery, and Yajie received a second chance at life.

"I can do sports. I can do housework. I can now help my parents. My dream is to go to college and make my parents proud of me," says Yajie.

"When CBN came to help us, I was so happy. I finally had hope," says Mrs. Xing.

Mr. Xing notices, "She is totally changed, and she is full of energy. When the villagers came and saw her they said that we have been sent angels from Heaven to help us. I told them that CBN paid for the surgery that saved my daughter’s life. I want to say thank you to everyone who gave my daughter new life."

"I’m so grateful that I got help from CBN. There are so many warm-hearted people who reached out their hands to help me. When I grow up, I want to be able to help others just like CBN helped me. I want to pass the love on to others," says Yajie
