Muslim "Scholars" Agree: Jews Were Behind Egypt Church Attacks
The deadly bombing of a Christian Church by Islamic jihadists in Alexandria, Egypt on New Year's Eve has generated mostly yawns by the Western mainsteam media. In some cases, there has been outright obfuscation, as seen in this CBS News piece where the attackers are identified only as "extremists."
Uh, what kind of extremists? Hindu? Buddhist? Mormon? No, they are Muslim extremists, and they are waging jihad against Christians throughout the Middle East. At least the CBS piece got the latter part right.
So how is this latest volley in the Islamic war against Christians in the Middle East being addressed by the region's leading Muslim "scholars?" By blaming the Jews, how else? Here is pro-jihad cleric Yusuf Qaradawi, host of a highly popular program on Al Jazeera television and the most influential Muslim Brotherhood thinker in the world today. From the Translating Jihad website:
Al-Qaradawi: Those Behind the Alexandria Bombing Are Criminals and Blood-Shedders; Islam Is Innocent of Them
...He pointed to the possibility of a foreign hand being behind the attack, with the purpose of igniting sectarian strife in Egypt, stating: "I fear that there may be a foreign hand behind this action, for it does not make sense for an Egyptian or a Muslim to be behind it. Perhaps a foreign hand is attempting to ignite sectarian strife ...
In other words: the Jews did it! Not to be outdone, here is the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, blaming "the enemies of Islam" &(a.k.a. Jews) for the Islamic carnage in Alexandria:
Enemies of Islam are trying to portray such attacks as orchestrated by Muslims, with the intention to rally hatred against the nation, the Mufti warned. Such attacks are aimed at weakening the Muslim nation, creating chias among its ranks and paving way for the enemies to score points against the Muslims, Al-Alsheikh added.
These grave incidents bleed the hearts of Muslims, he stressed, urging Muslims to be vigilant vis a vis plots made behind curtains by their enemies.
Both Qaradawi and the Grand Mufti beat around the bush, so to speak, and used code to accuse the Jews of being complicit. But as Robert Spencer notes, other leading Muslim voices in the Middle East were less cagey:
Lebanese Shi’ite leader Sheikh Abdel Amir Kabalan said: “This terrorist act bears the fingerprints of Zionists who keep on targeting religious sights [sic] and are working to … sow discord between Muslims and Christians.” Iran’s PressTV, in an unsigned editorial, struck a tone so similar as to give the impression that a set of talking points were being circulated: “The fresh plot by terrorists to target churches is an organized Zionist scenario aimed at creating a rift between Muslims and Christians.”
Hey, at least they, like this cleric, are honest about their genocidal intentions. And the West can't say it wasn't warned.
