Mitch Daniels Doubles Down on Truce

Memo to Mitch Daniels: Doubling down on the “truce” language may win you a few bucks in Vegas and get you some Independents but it’s not helping you any with social conservatives. And any candidate will need social conservatives to win the GOP nomination.

Watch Mitch Daniels talk (yet again) about calling a truce on the social issues.

Clearly, if Mitch Daniels gets in to the presidential race he, is punting on Iowa. His message won’t play well at all there. Ditto South Carolina. That leaves New Hampshire to build momentum but Romney has a major advantage there. Plus John Huntsman will focus there as well.

The math isn’t adding up here for Daniels. In addition, Daniels is a big favorite among the “Establishment GOP” and quite frankly, that may not be a good thing in this Election cycle.
