Jacob Bell: A Life Turned Around

CBN.com “I had a lot of depression and just not knowing what to do. I felt like I had lost everything at the time.”

Jacob Bells’ world had turned upside down. His first marriage ended in divorce after only one year. He was left with custody of their son and a $20,000 debt. And he had just started a new job as a corrections officer making minimum wage.

“I didn’t know where to turn and I was seeking something to just help me out,” he said.

It was about this time that Jacob remembered how his dad used to watch a show that seemed to have answers to the problems he was facing.

“I had been flipping through channels and I saw Pat Robertson,” he said. “It was very interesting the things he was saying and just the bible verses and listening to other people’s testimonies.”

It wasn’t long before Jacob began crying out to the Lord about his life and his financial crisis. The answer came during a 700 Club story about the law of reciprocity.

“I knew in my heart that God can do all things and he works through other people and with our finances,” he said. “If we give to him and give him our first fruits that he will bless our lives.”

So Jacob decided to see if it would work for him -- by joining the 700 Club! And the results were amazing!

“I refinanced the house and was able to pull a line of credit out on the house to purchase another property which was a duplex,” he said.

After fixing up his investment property Jacob was able to secure two tenants.

“The rent from that property from both sides was able to cover my mortgage on that property and the debt that I had accumulated through the divorce,” he said. “So I was making almost $300 positive cash at the time on a monthly basis. And it really helped me out.

“I feel that through the law of reciprocity that gave me the wisdom and discernment to make the right decisions to get myself out of debt.”

Jacob continued to give, and God continued to bless him!

“A short time after joining the 700 Club and tithing I had got some pay raises on my job. And my pay has since doubled,” he said.

After about a year of watching the 700 Club and going to church, Jacob met and married a wonderful woman named Jennifer. Today they’re reaping the benefits of a life of obedience to God.

“Just have the faith to trust in the Lord and seek His will for your life and all things work together,” he said. “He brings out everything together for his glory.”
