Evangelical Reviews on McCain Mostly Positive
From Sharon:
I am an evangelical Christian and I will vote for McCain. I have lived long enough to realize that not everyone will agree with me on all things (nor should they) and also know that it is foolish to cut off one's nose to spite his face. Voting for a democrat is doing just that. Not voting at all is giving the election to a liberal democrat. Do we really want another Clinton rule? How short our memory is of the last Clinton presidency. Obama is charismatic and I have nothing against him as a man, but his politics are very liberal.
I do not know whether the Iraq war should have ever been waged, but it was and we need someone who will not pull out and admit defeat. Bill Clinton did not have the moral character to stand up to terrorism and missed a couple of chances of taking bin Laden. The Sudanese government had bin Laden and offered him to the Saudis and possibly to the US, but neither took the Sudanese offer and bin Laden ended up in Afghanistan. If Clinton had acted is a different manner, 911 might have been avoided as well as the Iraqi war.
I believe that McCain is a man of integrity will stand up to what needs to be done, even if it isn't popular.
McCain wasn't my choice for the nominee because of his stance on embryonic stem cell research and immigration. He has at times told jokes or made comments that I did not feel were in good taste. I will vote for him in the fall over the democrat party because even with his faults he is more conservative than the other side of the fence.
He has voted against abortion in the past. We need a President that can build up a stronger Military giving them the support and the materials in hand to work with so that they can win the wars we now fight and come home in victory. He isn't the man I originally supported but...he is the man I will be voting for this fall if he is the Republican nominee.
I voted for Jimmy Carter because he was a Christian. What a mistake that was. If we stay at home in this election we will be sure to get Hillary or Obama and that will be worse than Jimmy Carter was. God can change the hearts of rulers and He has a better chance of reaching McCain that He does either of the Democrats. If you stay at home on Election Day, at least spend the time in prayer.
Candidates who compromise on issues just for political gain are like dust in the wind. They blow every which way that benefits themselves. They have lost their moral compass.
The Republican Party as it stands right now is in serious trouble. True conservatives are not necessarily true to any party, but to our trust in God and our moral beliefs. There is NO Compromise.
It just might be time for another party. I've voted predominately Republican all of my life, and this is the first time I am disgusted with my party and their back room deals to cut Mike Huckabee out. I won't be voting for John McCain because he does not mirror my convictions and in short...I just don't trust him to do what is right.
