East Bay Fellowship

CBN.com "Loving God in front of people and loving people in front of God – that’s the thing that’s on the front of our bulletin every week, and it’s the most important thing in the world to us because it encapsulates the Old and New Testaments," says Pastor Ron Pinkston.

East Bay Fellowship goes out of its way to reach people, no matter where they are in their life’s journey. It’s their desire to model the love of Christ through their actions, words, and ministry.

Says Ron, "Practical ministry is so important to us, so one of our goals is not to be a famous church. That’s not even important. What’s important is helping every person to discover what they do, people who go into the difficult city of Oakland and who feed the hungry. People go into San Francisco and wash the feet of the prostitutes on Saturday night and wash the feet of the homeless with the sores and open wounds."

This is paying off – one life at a time.

"One example would be Clay Allen, a guy I met in the back of the sanctuary one day," says Ron. "He said his life was falling apart. When I discovered what the problem was, we prayed and we met for months and he broke through and experienced freedom from sexual addiction."

The Lord used the staff at East Bay Fellowship to minister to Clay.

"He healed it in such a way that I could never have imagined how wonderful my marriage could have been unless I had gone through the process," says Clay. "My wife and I are passionately in love with each other. I got my family back!"

Clay and his wife now lead a national ministry focused on helping others overcome sexual addiction. Clay is just one of many who has found a new life at East Bay and a new life in Jesus Christ.

"We want everything in our church to reflect this–the way we treat people, the way we talk to people, how we respond to conflict and difficulties in people’s lives," says Ron. "This is what the Gospel is. This is what Jesus is like."
