Bringing Healing To Iraq

A team of Operation Blessing doctors and volunteers arrived in Iraq with great anticipation. They knew it was their chance to share the love of Jesus Christ with people who suffered through many years of war.

"What's happened is it's been the Iraq/Iran War, the Gulf War, and now this," explains Dr. Anita. "It's been almost 20 to 30 years that they have not had anyone come in. So we're coming in like a real splash of the latest technology."

Many patients only need a simple surgery or antibiotics, but without the needed resources and any money to pay for treatment, they face the possibility of death. (man's name) was one of those patients.

"My wisdom tooth got infected. And there was a hole through it. Then there was an abscess. The doctors saw it, but couldn't remove it. My condition wouldn't allow it."

(Man's name) damaged tooth led to an infection, causing a hole to form on the side of his face. If left untreated, the infection would kill him. But thanks to gifts from CBN partners, Operation Blessing was able to give (man's name) some good news concerning his tooth.

"An American doctor, I don't know his name, said he could remove it," XXX told CBN. "Then he ran some tests, he looked at it, and he removed it."

Operation Blessing also gave (man's name) a month's worth of antibiotics to clear up his infection. It's a blessing that will help him move on with his life.

"Now it starts healing. So like now it's all going to heal. He might have a little scar over here, but that's about it. This is going to make a lot of difference to him," said Dr. Anita.
