Lung Condition Healed by God

CBN.com - “Fitness has always been a lifestyle,” explains Marty Lueddeke. “I've always worked out. It's a big part of my life.”

Marty exercised daily and considered himself healthy. So when he developed ‘a little cough’, he wasn’t alarmed. “Initially, it was just a dry cough; just a subtle dry cough.” 

But it quickly got worse. “I was coughing so bad, I couldn't even order a sandwich at the deli. Toward the end I couldn't even climb a flight of stairs. I would cough to the point where I was blacking out.” 

Doctors diagnosed Marty with sarcoidosis— a collection of inflammatory cells that commonly attacks the lungs. He was given steroids to reduce the inflammation. The meds took care of the cough. But there were consequences. “I felt very weak. I felt very listless. I didn't have much energy. It was terrible. I couldn't wait to get off it.”

When Marty went off the steroids, the cough came back. “I was praying for the Lord to heal me, to take it away. I was just waiting for the Lord to move, waiting for His timing.”

One evening Marty was watching the 700 Club and heard Pat Robertson praying. “Somebody else with lung problems; you just breathe. Just breathe in and breathe out, and your lungs are healed.”

“It just ended. That was it. It was gone. It just dissipated. I knew it was gone without a shadow of a doubt. So, I was excited and I couldn't wait for that confirmation from the doctor.”

His follow-up appointment confirmed his lungs were normal and the sarcoidosis was gone!  “His Word is clear and by His stripes we are healed. My words can't express adequately how grateful I am to the Lord for healing me, as well as everything else He has done for me in my life.”
