God’s Perfect Plan for Fahim
Fahim is a migrant worker from Egypt, and a Christian. It’s difficult for Christians to find good jobs in Egypt, so he moved to Israel to send money back home to support his family.
Fahim explained, “I first came here with my wife to visit the holy sites for a week-long tour. I had to come back here to look for opportunities, because my economic situation was very bad back home.”
Not long after moving to Israel, Fahim suddenly had pain and a significant loss of sight in his left eye. Almost blind in one eye, he had a hard time keeping up with his employer’s demands.
“I was immediately laid off,” said Fahim. “I wasn’t able to pay the rent. My friends offered me to sleep on their couch until I get my eye treated. Hopefully, I will be able to get back to work.”
Fahim knew he needed surgery, but as a migrant, he has no medical insurance in Israel, and couldn’t pay for surgery out of pocket. “I was really upset and distressed over my eye. I didn’t know what to do,” said Fahim.
Then one day at church, a friend told Fahim about CBN Israel’s program at the St John Eye Hospital in Jerusalem. Fahim felt it would be a miracle from God if he could get surgery there. Thanks to supporters like you, Fahim became the 44th patient accepted in this program, and CBN Israel helped him save his sight by repairing a detached retina. Now Fahim is working again.
Fahim exclaimed, “God sent you! I had nobody to help me. If I had stayed in Egypt, I wouldn’t have a place or chance to be treated. May God bring good and peace to this land. I would like to thank everyone who has given money to help people like me, and encourage them to keep giving, because they really make a difference.”
