Never-Ending Hip Pain Healed with One Word

Pauline remembers, “The pain was like a 10 on the right hip. It was not until I got into my regular room and no more pain meds that I really felt the discomfort.”

When Pauline Ruiz gave birth in June of 1984, she expected joy, not a lifetime of struggle. The difficult birth left her with crippling hip pain that never went away.

Pauline shares, “It was difficult for me to walk because the pain would shoot from my hip to down my leg.”

For the next three years, Pauline tried everything to make the discomfort stop. Including over the counter pain medications, and chiropractic adjustments that only brought temporary relief. By 1987, the severity of her symptoms had increased so much that she visited an orthopedic specialist who suggested a hip replacement.

Pauline recalls, “I thought to myself. I have small children at home; I cannot and will not consent to a hip replacement.”

So, she resolved to live with the pain. However, even after simple tasks like doing her household chores, the discomfort would flare up again. Pauline continued praying for healing even though she sometimes doubted whether God would heal something so small.

Pauline says, “When I compare it to all the other things in life, cancers, illnesses, diseases. I thought a little pain in my hip is very trivial.”

For 37 years, the pain would come and go. As Pauline’s faith deepened, so did her perspective. She wasn’t just praying for relief anymore; she was praying for a complete healing in Jesus.

Pauline shares, “I realized that I was tolerating something that he completed at the cross. I said, ‘Lord, put it in the socket, do whatever you need to do. I know nothing's impossible for you.’”

By 2025, the pain still surfaced at times, but Pauline continued believing for total healing. Then one day, as she lifted a suitcase out of her car, she triggered the worst pain she had ever felt.

Pauline recalls, “It was like a 10 in pain. And I said, ‘Lord, I want you to heal me this time. I don't wanna go to the chiropractor. I know you can heal me.’”

Then, on February 5, 2025, while Pauline was watching the 700 Club she got a surprise as Gordon Robertson began to pray.

Gordon says, “Someone else, you’ve had problems related to childbirth in your hips. God’s going to heal all that and return it to how He originally intended now in Jesus’s name, Amen.”

Pauline shares, “As soon as Gordon said childbearing, I jumped from my chair and immediately I felt like my hip went into the socket and the pain was gone immediately, and it's never come back. God's healing power flowed through my body. From then on I can vacuum, I can sweep, I can do my chores.”

Today, Pauline encourages everyone, no matter their need, big or small,  to keep trusting God because He will heal you too.

Pauline says, “He died at the cross. And the stripes that He took on His back are for all the things big or small. He cares about anything that you are concerned about. He never changes. He's the same yesterday, today and forever.”
