Are You Missing Out on a Blessing?
Marta Neff finds joy in everything she does and seeks to follow God in both the big and small things of life.
She explains, “I don't believe in accidents. I learned that God choreographs our lives. He sets us up.”
This wasn’t always her mindset. For years, she thought she was in control of her life and her money.
“It's like, ‘Okay, easy come, easy go.’ I spend it, don't think about saving. ‘I'm having fun with this.’ You know, that's what it was about. It was about getting things,” she admits.
Although Marta went to church, she didn’t really know God. Then one day, she came across the 700 Club.
She shares, “Pat began to teach on practical applications of what's in the Bible. He said a scripture that it's been with me ever since. ‘Give and it shall be given unto you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, shall men give unto your bosom.’
He said, ‘It's about reaching the world for Christ.’ It's not just about me. Everything we have He has entrusted to us, so I learned that we are to be good stewards of our finances. and I learned when I connect myself to God, I'm holding onto him, and he's going to hold onto me.”
As she began trusting God, she gave as often and as much as she could.
She exclaims, “The Lord revealed to me that the economy of this world's system is buying and selling, but the economy of heaven is giving and receiving.”
Marta will never forget when Pat Robertson shared that he was launching a satellite ministry.
She recalls, “He said, ‘This is the first time in history that the whole world will be able to witness the second coming of the Lord, and then he said how God was beginning to open up doors to this country and that country.”
She wanted to be part of that and everything CBN was doing, so when she received some money through an inheritance, she gave a portion to CBN.
I wanted to obey the Lord. I didn't want to spend my money on going shopping. I wanted to give to God because I found an avenue to express what was in my heart of how to reach the lost.”
Soon, she started tithing a full 10% and also became a CBN Partner.
She explains, “You might not be able to go here or there, but CBN is reaching the world. It’s phenomenal. The joy of knowing that people's lives are being changed from the natural to the eternal: I love it.”
As Marta’s given through the years, she’s seen God meet all her financial needs- and has gotten opportunities she never dreamed of, like when she became a model, making up to $3000 a week and most recently, when she launched her own, very successful, cleaning business.
“God provided. He's never let me down,” she says. It's no longer about, okay, I got money. The first thing I think is, ‘I'm going to give the Lord the tithe.”
Marta encourages others to trust God and give, like she does.
“Tithing and giving has literally changed my entire life,” declares Marta. “We've got to take that step before God acts many times and moves on our behalf.. And what’s interesting about giving, the more you give, the more you receive.” She concludes,
“You’re missing out on a blessing if you don't give to CBN.”
