Single Mom Discovers Hope Amid Despair

Luba and her husband are Jewish, and moved from Russia to Israel 5 years ago. They had two children and were building their lives together in their new home country. Then Luba suddenly lost her husband due to heart failure, leaving her to raise their two toddlers by herself.

Luba explained, “When my husband died, it was a complete shock to us. Without his income, it was very difficult financially. I could barely afford groceries or things we needed for the house.”

A friend told her about CBN Israel. When she reached out to us, we gave her and her children food, and bought her a clothes dryer she needed. Then, in the middle of their struggles, their home was flooded.

Luba said, “After the flood, my son struggled with asthma attacks, because of the mold on the sofa and in the air, but we didn’t have any money to buy another one.”

So, CBN Israel gave them a new sofa, and an air conditioner, to help keep the air in their home clean.

“I couldn’t believe that there were people out there who were willing to help us the way CBN helped us,” Luba said.

Luba went to school, graduated, and recently got a job as a dental assistant. Now, she’s able to provide for her family on her own.

Luba said, “All I can say is, ‘Thank you for being there. Your generosity means so much to my family and me.’”
