This Movement is Calling Gen Z Into a New Type of Evangelism!
ALL ABOUT CARS
In 1901, Frank Meguiar Jr. started the family business of handmaking bottles of polish in his garage. At first, his polish was used on furniture but when people started using it on their horseless carriages, the car wax business was born. By 1964, Meguiar’s Car Wax grossed $600,000 annually and the family was happy. But when Barry wanted to expand their products into the retail market they weren’t interested.
Barry explains, “My dad and his brothers were living the life, working half days, and had no interest in growing the business.” But Barry wasn’t giving up. He asked God to help him, and those prayers were answered. On a particular sales call, he met a guy who was a marketing executive and offered to help Barry promote Meguiar’s for free. As word got out, the business took off. Today, Meguiar’s is a best-selling brand known for not only car wax, but a list of car care products.
IGNITE NEXTGEN
IgniteAmerica, the nonprofit founded by Barry, has launched Ignite NextGen, a new digital faith-sharing initiative designed to help Gen Z Christians share their faith on popular social media channels such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and Threads. The initiative debuted at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville, Feb. 17–20.
The launch comes amid a notable resurgence of faith among young Americans. Gen Z — often described as spiritually curious but institutionally skeptical — is rediscovering Christianity in significant numbers, with Bible sales among this generation rising in double digits over the past year.
At the same time, Gen Z communicates largely through digital platforms, with research consistently showing that more than nine in 10 young Americans use social media regularly and many spend multiple hours a day on video-first and messaging-focused social networks, making online spaces a primary mission field for this generation.
Free to download, Ignite NextGen is designed as a comprehensive digital discipleship resource for young Christians navigating faith in online spaces. It is anchored by an e-book, From Scroll to Soul:
Gen Z’s Guide to Confidently Sharing God’s Love Online, that includes platform-specific guidance for each social media channel, tools to help readers identify their personal faith-sharing style, storytelling blueprints and content prompts, sharing do’s and don’ts, how to deal with online trolls, and a list highlighting dozens of real-world Christian creators across categories such as lifestyle, culture, music, apologetics and street evangelism that illustrates a range of approaches to sharing faith online.
Other components include pre-produced, shareable video content via QR code, curated graphics and memes, and links to ready-to-use faith-based posts designed for immediate sharing.
Beyond content strategy, Ignite NextGen also emphasizes spiritual grounding and intentionality, encouraging users to balance bold faith expression with discernment, community and personal discipline. This includes a seven-day online faith-sharing challenge, weekly content planners and checklists designed to help young believers move from inspiration to action while prioritizing
faithfulness over online metrics.
The initiative is supported by ongoing digital engagement, including regularly scheduled social media content across multiple platforms, weekly video releases, a multi-part email series, and recorded roundtable discussions designed to equip and encourage young believers as they put faith into practice in their daily lives.
“Ignite NextGen exists because the Gospel hasn’t changed, but how young people communicate absolutely has,” Meguiar said. “Gen Z is hungry for truth and authenticity, yet many don’t know how to express their faith online. This resource meets them exactly where they are and helps them share Jesus with confidence, clarity and love.”
The official launch at NRB placed Ignite NextGen before thousands of faith leaders, media professionals and ministry organizations seeking effective ways to engage and support the next
generation of believers.
Ignite NextGen is available as a free download through IgniteAmerica.com and is designed for students, young adults, churches, campus ministries and parents who want to help Gen Z navigate faith in a digital-first world.
