Arjola Sinani’s Journey: From Despair to Purpose Through Faith and Education

Albanian native Arjola “Yola” Sinani’s story is one of transformation—marked by a deep personal struggle, a life-changing encounter with faith, and a journey that ultimately brought her back to her home country with renewed purpose.

Growing up in Albania, Sinani was driven by a pursuit of perfection, striving for success in academics, relationships, and personal image.

Despite her efforts, she found herself overwhelmed by emptiness and hopelessness, eventually questioning the value of her life. In that breaking moment, she experienced what she describes as a powerful encounter with God—one that instantly removed her suicidal thoughts and set her on a new spiritual path.

In 2019, Sinani moved to the United States, where she completed high school in Virginia. As she began considering her future, a desire she had long held—to attend a Christian university—resurfaced. When a friend mentioned Regent University, it aligned with prayers she had previously made in Albania. Though concerned about the financial burden, she decided to visit the campus.

That visit proved pivotal. Sinani recalls feeling an overwhelming sense of peace and clarity that Regent was where she belonged. After praying for provision, she applied the same day, was immediately accepted, and received multiple scholarships, removing the financial barrier she had feared.

At Regent University, Sinani pursued a degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management. During her time there, she says she experienced holistic transformation—spiritually, emotionally, and intellectually. She credits the university’s faith-centered approach with helping her develop a deeper relationship with God and a clearer sense of purpose.

After graduating in 2024, Sinani’s journey took another unexpected turn. While traveling back to Albania, she met two Christian business leaders while on a layover at New York’s JFK airport. The encounter led to an ongoing connection, and months later, they felt led to offer her a position with their organization, Black Horse Initiative LLC.

Today, Sinani serves as the Marketing and PR Director for the organization in Albania. In her role, she helps bridge connections between the United States and Albania—supporting initiatives such as partnerships with local olive farmers—while integrating her faith and business expertise.

Her story has come full circle: from searching for meaning in Albania, to being shaped through education in the United States, and now returning home to make an impact. Sinani views her journey as part of a larger purpose—combining faith, education, and professional calling to serve others.

As she reflects on her path, she credits Regent University as a key turning point, describing it as a place that not only educated her but helped transform her life.
