Their Livelihood Was Washed Away

“ I said, 'Lord, if this is our end, we submit ourselves to you.'  All I could think about was how to save my family,”

When a CAT 3 typhoon hit his town in Cebu, Philippines, Renato, a husband, father and business owner, told us flash floods quickly overtook their home and business.

“Our store was flooded. Everything inside was destroyed or ruined. When you have a family to feed and children in school, it is very difficult to live without any income for a month.”

As a Christian and primary bread winner for the family, Renato said he began praying desperate prayers.  “I was asking, 'Lord, how can we rebuild our business? Please show us how we can start over.’”

Even in the midst of his own trials, Renato chose to look outward. When an Operation Blessing Disaster Relief Team brought relief supplies to the town, he rolled up his sleeves and helped to hand items out to his neighbors. When we saw compassion for others, we decided to help him even further.  Thanks to YOU, we rebuilt and re-stocked his shop and restaurant. Now he is back in business and able to earn an income for his family!

“Operation Blessing came and did not hesitate to help us. Because of them, I have my shop and a brand-new freezer. They provided everything we needed. This is an answered prayer. Thank you to everyone who supports Operation Blessing!
