Bringing the Joy of Christmas to Agua Zarcas
Last November, the Orphan's Promise team joined forces with the Superbook team to bring smiles and the message of hope to the children of their project in Agua Zarcas, San Carlos, Costa Rica. This mission aimed to share the Gospel and let these children know the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus!
The event featured "Gizmo in Pajamas," a new series that captivated the children. Through this story, the team explained why it was necessary for the Savior to be born. The children were thrilled by the short video, many of them seeing Gizmo in pajamas for the first time. Additionally, they watched the episode "The First Christmas," which beautifully illustrated the birth of Jesus.
These audiovisual resources were instrumental in conveying a powerful message: despite the stain of sin in their hearts, Jesus is much more powerful and can save them. The Lord's presence was palpable, guiding the team as they also spoke to the adults and volunteers who accompanied the children. It was clear that Jesus knew each person there, and it was no accident that they were present—he wanted to save them too.
The children understood their need for salvation, which could only be found in Jesus. Moved by the stories and the love they felt, some of them decided to give their lives to Jesus, receiving him as the best Christmas gift. The joy and transformation were evident as they embraced their newfound faith.
The highlight of the event was a special surprise from Superbook: Gizmo traveled from Professor Quantum’s lab to visit the children and help with the gift-giving. The children's faces lit up with happiness as they met Gizmo in person, making the day even more memorable.
