Superbook Brings Hope After the Storm
In the aftermath of Hurricane Erick, communities in Mexico faced devastation and uncertainty. Families struggled to rebuild their lives, and children carried the weight of fear and loss. But in Pinotepa Nacional, a community deeply affected by the storm, hope arrived in a way that touched hearts forever—through CBN Animation’s Superbook.
As part of the closing activities for disaster relief projects, the Superbook team partnered with local churches to bring a day of joy and faith to the children of El Tamal. The event began with the screening of a Superbook episode, followed by reflection on its powerful lesson and the sharing of the Gospel. The excitement grew when Gizmo made his appearance, filling the room with laughter and wonder.
After the episode, the children enjoyed coloring activities, sang together, and shared a light snack. But the most beautiful moment came when 12 children decided to accept Jesus into their hearts. Among them was Joana, who expressed her joy in her own words:
“We enjoyed painting and watching the movie and seeing [Gizmo]… greeting him and giving him a hug… [We accepted Jesus into our hearts] because he is good, powerful, he takes care of us, he protects us... We are going to be obedient… not be rude, obey mom and dad, [and] not hit our brothers [or] our friends.”
Her words reflect the transformation that happens when children encounter the love of Jesus. Through Superbook, they learn Bible stories and experience God’s truth in a way that changes their hearts and behaviors.
To make this day even more special, each child received a Book of Life, a beautifully illustrated book that helps them learn and treasure the Gospel. In communities where access to reading materials is limited, this book becomes a precious resource, encouraging children to read and grow in faith. Along with Faith Declaration Cards, these tools guide children in their first steps after accepting Jesus, helping them affirm and strengthen their faith.
What began as a disaster relief effort became a celebration of new life—a reminder that God’s love shines brightest in the darkest times.
