Bringing Joy and Hope to Refugee Families
While many Christians celebrate the birth of Christ on December 25, those that are Eastern Orthodox celebrate on January 7. This January was extra special because an Operation Blessing team brought Christmas warmth and joy to the hearts of many in Krakow, Poland. In collaboration with a Ukrainian church, the Operation Blessing team in Poland organized a special Superbook Christmas evangelistic event for children from refugee families. This event was a beacon of hope and love, attended by almost 100 children and their parents, who eagerly observed the program.
The Operation Blessing team initially met the pastor of the church in Krakow at a conference, and the connection led to a fruitful collaboration including the co-organization of the Christmas event. The program was led by Olga and Polina, two Ukrainian Christian ladies who now reside in Krakow, along with Tanja, a dedicated volunteer from the church. Their leadership and dedication made the event a resounding success.
The event was held to share the Gospel, the significance of Jesus' birth, and the message of a loving God with families who have faced immense challenges since fleeing their homes in Ukraine. The atmosphere was filled with joy as entire families gathered to celebrate and learn about the true meaning of Christmas. The children received gifts, and a special highlight of the event was the appearance of Gizmo, the beloved Superbook character. The children were thrilled to take photos with Gizmo, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
