Sheila Summers (Roddy) knows first-hand the power of negative words and the consequences of dangerous choices that can result from having 'a hole in her heart in the shape of her father.' Born in Edinburgh, Scotland and despite her own shyness, Summers had a passion for dance that won her a place at the coveted Scottish Theatre Ballet Company, a role in the movie classic 'The Prime of Miss Jean Brody' and winner of the title of Miss Edinburgh. Yet despite the accolades, Sheila grew up struggling to overcome her otherwise loving father's declaration that she was 'nothing but an idiot'. That wound contributed to her fall into relationships that left her isolated and ultimately a victim of abuse at the hands of an American Sailor she had come to America to marry hoping for a second chance at love. In her own fight to survive, a faith she'd been searching for all through her life was rekindled and Sheila Summers discovered from her Heavenly Father, whom she calls Papa, that she was precious and worthy of so much more. After six years her break for freedom saved her and her children from the torment of domestic abuse and her life long search for her Papa brought about their ultimate healing.
