A native of Florida, Nancy graduated from the University of Florida and soon after was crowned Miss Florida in 1976. She went on to participate in the Miss America Pageant (1977). Nancy began her career as a public relations specialist. She also worked as a top model with the Ford Model Agency in New York and appeared in over 250 commercials before beginning her acting career.
After moving to Los Angeles in 1982 Nancy won her first regular role on the NBC medical drama series St. Elsewhere as Joan Halloran (1983) a role she played for two seasons. In 1987, Nancy was cast as Andy Griffith’s law partner on TV’s Matlock. She became known to millions as she played Michelle Thomas for 5 years in the series. Other TV shows she has been on include ABC’s Sidekicks and the NBC daytime drama The Doctors to name a few. Her 25+ episodic roles include a recurring role the last two seasons of ABC’s Scandal. Her upcoming films include Faith, Hope & Love, Love by Drowning, and TV pilot Eleanor’s Bench. Films currently streaming include Heritage Falls, Heaven Bound, and I’m Not Ashamed, the story of Rachel Joy Scott, the first student killed in the Columbine shooting. She is also featured in some Hallmark holiday favorites which include Christmas with a Capital C, Christmas for a Dollar, and Christmas Oranges.
Nancy is the author of two best-selling books: The Wonder of His Love: A Journey into the Heart of God and Beauty by the Book: Seeing Yourself as God Sees You. She has been the Host of several TV series, including Love, Marriage, and Stinking Thinking with Mark Gungor, and for ten years hosted CBS’s Main Floor, a fashion and lifestyle series that aired in over 40 countries around the world.
Off-screen Nancy serves on The Greenhouse Arts & Media Board, which develops and equips creative artists in Hollywood, Biola University Studio Task Force, a group of Hollywood professionals investing in the next generation of writers, directors, producers, actors and crew, and on Advisory Boards of The Dove Foundation and SAT-7, Christian satellite TV broadcasting in the Middle East and North Africa, reaching millions in that region in three languages on five channels.
Nancy has been married to Larry Myers since 1989. Larry is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, has been a pastor and worship musician since 1975 when he helped establish the original Vineyard Christian Fellowship, and has helped start four other churches in the Los Angeles area.
