You Made this Holocaust Survivor Feel Loved!

Bronya is a Holocaust Survivor who lives in Israel. She still suffers daily from the trauma she experienced during the war.

“I remember when the Nazis arrived at our house,” Bronya said. “They took my father to the center of the village with the other men. They shot him right there. I never really got to know him.”

Nazis forced the rest of Bronya’s family to live in a pigsty during their first winter in a Ukrainian ghetto.

“We were so cold and hungry,” Bronya recalled. “My baby sister starved to death. To this day I constantly struggle with those memories, like a black cloud over my head.”

The loneliness brought on by the COVID-19 lockdowns in Israel made her feel even worse.

Bronya shared, “Being alone worried about the virus has been very hard.”

Bronya wasn’t able to go out to get groceries or see her friends because of the threat of catching the coronavirus. So, CBN Israel started delivering food and regularly checking in on her to help her feel less lonely.

“It’s wonderful that you want to come see me and bring this food,” Bronya said with a smile on her face. “You make me feel like I still matter to someone, and that means everything.”

Thanks to CBN donors, Bronya and other Holocaust Survivors in Israel will get the food and support they need during and after this pandemic – and that helps give them peace of mind.

“Thank you very much for your love,” Bronya said. “It makes me feel alive.”
