What Her Doctor Couldn’t Fix, God Did!

At forty-eight-years old, Uber driver Beth Worku had never had problems with her monthly cycle. That is until June of 2018. It lasted two weeks, twice as long as usual. Beth and her husband, Elyas, a pastor, were concerned, so Beth made an appointment with her doctor.

“They were not sure about what the issue was. They said it could be just a hormonal issue. And for that reason, they wanted me to take birth control pills.”

At first the pills worked as planned, regulating her cycle and the bleeding. Then six months later, not only did her cycle last three weeks but continued. Beth recounts, "The cramping that I had was severe. Really unbearable kind of pain, not the normal thing that I usually get when I get my cycles, but this one was different and that's when I realized that there was – something was wrong with me.”

Beth immediately thought of her aunt, who died of cervical cancer after getting a late diagnosis. ‘“Out of the blue one day she got sick, and she came to find out that it was already stage three. I was just hoping and believing and praying that, ‘God, don't let that happen to me.’"

Beth went back to her doctor, who couldn’t find anything wrong and encouraged her to continue taking the birth control pills. She struggled to do her job and other daily tasks as her cycles kept going longer. 

By January of 2020, she was constantly bleeding and in pain and her doctor still had no answers.

“All they tell me was ‘take birth control pill again,’ and then I did and then it was not helping, and they told me that to keep taking it each day until it stops. But the bleeding was even more now, and the suffering was – the pain--was unbearable. For me to work full time was very important, but I was not able to do that.”

Beth and her husband prayed for her healing. “I just keep praying, I keep, you know, asking God, ‘I know you can heal me. I know you don't want me to suffer.’ I didn't even tell my immediate family about it because I don’t want them to worry about it, so that was really hard as well.”

Then on March 10th, 2020, Beth and Elyas were watching the 700 Club when Terry began to pray…"Someone else, you have a blood situation, I don’t even know what you call it, but there’s something, it’s an illness I’m going to say in your blood that is causing havoc with other parts of your body. God is healing that for you right now. What you haven’t been able to manage with medications and treatments is now being made completely whole for you by God."

"I knew that was for me. I just grabbed it!  My expression was like ‘Amen!' and then my husband was like 'Amen!'  He was just joining me and agreeing with me, he's like, ‘Amen!  Amen!  Thank you, Jesus!’  I will never forget that moment.”’

Beth stopped taking the birth control and says the bleeding –and the pain--stopped immediately. Ever since then, Beth has had no issues and is enjoying the active life she loves.

“God healed me and ever since then everything is normal, I'm living a happy, healthy life and telling people that it's possible. All you have to do is just believe; don't give up, just believe and he will heal you. He's a healer.”
