Restoring Joy and Hope When She Despaired

Ly has been through a lot since her husband left. She’s raising two children on her own. She gets up early to dig earthworms and buys vegetables to sell. She also works long hours on construction sites. She is exhausted. “When I get home, I cook dinner, wash the dishes. But I can't sleep because I worry about how I'm going to earn money to buy food,” explained Ly.

Ly was so stressed and tired that she considered ending her life. “I didn't know how much longer I could keep going,” explained Ly. “Then I thought who will take care of my kids if I die. So, I decided I will be strong for them.”

Ly’s daughter, Lin, has watched her mother struggle. “I want to help her, but I don’t know what to do,” said Lin.

That’s when CBN’s Orphan’s Promise provided some help. Working with a local pastor, the organization taught Ly how to run a small business.

“I learned how to spend money and to save. Now I think before spend anything,” explained Ly.

Then, the organization gave Ly a grocery shop to earn more steady income. “Orphan’s Promise helped me a lot. Already the income from my grocery business has doubled,” said Ly. “I feel that this is miracle. Now my son can go to school. I'm so thankful for the kindness of strangers who helped my family during our time of need. God blessed me to meet such good people.”
