“Jesus Saved My Life.”
Yuting loves to sing praise songs.
She explains, “My favorite one is called ‘The Rock.’ It goes, ‘Rock, Rock, Jesus Christ.”
She first learned about Jesus and heard this song in the hospital when she was five years old. She’d already had one heart surgery at the time and needed another, or she could die.
“The doctor said she had a complex single atrium and single ventricle, which was very difficult to treat,” her mother recounts. “The blood vessels in her heart were completely disordered.”
Mrs. Wei farms and does odd jobs, so she could barely pay Yuting’s treatment bills. A second surgery would be impossible, and through the years, Yuting’s heart got worse: with frequent chest pain, dizziness, nausea and weakness.
“She was in a state of hypoxia. Her limbs were weak, and she couldn’t walk very far without getting tired,” Mrs. Wei shares. She then confesses, “Seeing her like this was like a stab in my heart, and I couldn’t stop crying. I wished I could give her my heart.”
Yuting remembers, “My lips turned purple, and my face turned white. My classmates bullied me. They called me a ghost. I felt trapped. I looked out the window and wished I could be free like a bird in the sky.”
By the time she was 10, Yuting’s heart was struggling to supply enough blood to her body, and once again, she was hospitalized.
Her mother weeps, “She spat out big mouthfuls of blood. She was gasping for air and had a heart rate of 180 beats per minute. The doctor said she needed to get surgery at a larger hospital or just go home and wait to die.”
Yuting kept worshipping God.
“As I lay in bed,” she says, “I sang praise songs, and my heart was filled with strength. I felt like Jesus was right beside me.”
Mrs. Wei shares, “I asked the Lord to have mercy on my daughter and prayed, 'Lord, please heal her, provide a way for Yuting to get surgery.’”
Not long after this, a nurse told Mrs. Wei about Operation Blessing, and you helped Yuting get heart surgery.
“I know it was Jesus who saved my life,” declares Yuting. I feel completely better now. I’m like a free bird, and now I sing and praise God more than ever.”
Her mother exclaims, “Yuting’s body is so different now. Her lips are rosy and she’s very lively.” She concludes, “I never imagined that someone I didn't know would spend so much money to help my child. I’ve shared what happened with many people, and they’ve become believers. Thank you to the Operation Blessing donors and thank you Lord!”
