Her Choice Cost Her Everything—Until God Restored It Tenfold

Soon after the birth of her youngest child, Neang, who lives in Cambodia, was given an ultimatum by her husband.  “He took my Bible and threw it away! He said, ‘You have to choose—Me? or Jesus? Which one will you pick?’ So, I said, ‘I choose Jesus.’  He said, ‘If you believe in Jesus, then let Jesus take care of you and your children,’” Neang said with tears in her eyes.

Neang never saw him again.  And, she was left to raise her teenage son and 4-year-old daughter alone. “There were times when we did not have any rice or money,” she said. “I do a little sewing here and there, and that helps me buy a small amount of food. I never have enough money to buy new fabric and cloth for sewing.”

“When I’m hungry, mom gives me porridge but I don’t don’t want to just eat that,” said four-year-old Kakrona. “I feel bad when I see mom cry.  I cannot help yet because I am small.”

Neang told us she prays to Jesus every day for a breakthrough in her circumstances.  Then one day she learned about a program sponsored by Operation Blessing. Thanks to you we gave Neang the capital she needed to buy a large amount of cloth and other supplies to grow her sewing business. “I was able to buy everything I needed:  fabric, thread, buttons, and many other supplies.  There are so many things you need to make clothes and I finally was able to buy them all!” she declared.

Over the past year, Neang said her income has tripled.  Now there’s money to pay for food, school and money to reinvest in the business. “I’m really happy that we have enough to eat and that I can afford to send my older son to study in the city.  To those who have helped, may God bless you abundantly!  Thank you for being there for me in my time of struggle!”

Yes!” said Kakrona. “Thank you to the people who helped my mom!”
