A Heart Healed and Hope Found

Zixuan always tried to keep a close watch on her little sister Ziying. “She was shorter than everyone,” says Zixuan, “and the other kids laughed at her.” Mrs. Li added, “She coughed, and sweated, and complained that she was dizzy a lot.”

The Li’s thought Ziying just had a weak immune system, and it would improve. But over time, she got worse. Since the Li’s could not afford to bring her to a doctor, Zixuan took it upon herself to come up with a solution for her sister. “We liked a fairy named Yeloli,” explained Zixuan, “and thought she could make wishes come true. So, we asked her to keep Ziying from being sick. But she didn’t do anything.”

Then one day, Ziying fainted, and she ended up at the hospital. That is when the Li’s found out what had been wrong with Ziying all along. She was not getting enough blood flow and oxygen to her heart, which was causing further complications. Mr. Li recalled, “The doctor said she had a huge hole in her heart and she needed an operation quickly. But even if I had 10 years, I still couldn’t save enough for surgery. I felt so guilty.”

Zixuan added, “When she came home, she looked pale. She held her heart and cried and just wanted to sleep.” 

Ziying’s heart was starving for blood and weakening quickly. Her sister remembered, “ZiYing cried and said, ‘I'm scared I’m not going to live long.’ I tried to comfort her and said, ‘Don't worry, sister. I'll help save money and pay for your surgery.’”

“Life grew dark and my whole family stopped smiling,” Mr. Li shared. “I worried every day that I would lose my daughter. But there was nothing I could do,” he admitted.

“I desperately wanted to heal my daughter,” said Mrs. Li. “I’d do anything, even give her my own heart if I could.” 

Mr. Li searched for help and finally came across CBN. We made it possible for Ziying to quickly receive free surgery.

Zixuan smiled, “Now my sister is cured, and she can go back to school. No one laughs at her anymore. She’s much taller and even walks faster than I do.” 

“This is the best thing that ever happened to us,” Mrs. Li proclaimed.  “And through CBN, I learned about Jesus and how He is a good God! Thank you to CBN.”

Mr. Li concluded, “Thank you for helping Ziying. Without you, my daughter would have died. But now she’s happy and healthy.”
