Keeping Her Son Alive – A Mother’s Vigil

Haneen’s young son Mohammad has a rare kidney disease, leaving him tethered to an IV—a constant burden that consumes her days. Her four other children often watch from the side, knowing they must wait for the mother who is fighting relentlessly to keep their little brother alive.

"I fear for Mohammad. I have to live with it every day. And I don’t get enough sleep," Haneen shares, articulating the immense strain she is under.

Mohammad's medical needs also create a crushing financial burden. Essential medicine and specialized nutrition are all uncovered by insurance and are rapidly draining the family's resources.

"Mohammad has to take the medication and the milk in order to survive," Haneen explains. "Because he needs to be under constant supervision, we don't have any social life. We can't even go out with the kids, because Mohammad is hooked up to the machine."

Working as a janitor, Mohammad’s father, Jamal, cleans the very building where a church group meets. It was there, through a trusted Arab Christian friend, that he was referred to CBN Israel. The result was life-changing: groceries quickly filled their empty shelves, and financial aid eased their crushing debt.

This support didn't just pay bills; it gave this exhausted family much-needed rest and peace.

"CBN has been very supportive and brought food," Haneen says. "We’ve seen a huge difference in our life, because your support lets us stretch our monthly budget a lot more."

The support CBN Israel provided has touched every member of Haneen’s household. Because of this assistance, the family can turn their eyes away from the crisis of today and focus on the hope ahead.

"Thank you CBN for all the love that you’ve given us. It helped so much," Haneen concludes.
