Jesus Messiah: God's Nearness and Glory

God. Where is he when it really matters? I am not talking about a god who is far, unapproachable, and incapable of experiencing our dirt-under-the-nails existence... No... My God has dust-covered feet. Sweat and dirt paint the Face of compassion. Flesh and blood dress Light divine. Pain and loss assault the Son of Man.

And as he weeps, his tears remind us that our pain is washed away in the eternal depths of God’s heart. Who alone but Jesus? God in my doubts. God in my loss. God in my darkness. Who alone but Jesus? Death-conqueror. Curse-breaker. Hope-giver. Who alone but Jesus? ‘A light for revelation to the nations’ and the glory of Your people Israel.”
