Blessing Ukrainian Single Mom in Israel

Diana, a single mother, was living in Ukraine with her daughter when the war with Russia broke out.

Diana explained, “I was scared for my daughter and myself, but I didn’t know where to go or what to do. I reached out to my local synagogue asking them for help.”

Because of her Jewish heritage, Diana and her daughter moved to Israel, but only with their suitcases, leaving everything else behind, as their hometown was invaded.

“It was very difficult to come to Israel. Everything was new,” said Diana. “I needed to find a job and an apartment, learn Hebrew, and find a kindergarten for my daughter.”

Settling in an apartment in central Israel, Diana met other Ukrainian refugees, and they told her about CBN Israel.

Diana said, “I reached out to CBN Israel and told them of my situation. I had found an apartment close to a kindergarten and a job, but it lacked several household appliances, and I had no way to afford to buy what I needed.”

To help Diana get on her feet in Israel, we bought her an oven and a washing machine, and helped pay for some much-needed repairs in her apartment.

“I want to thank everyone who helped us,” said Diana. “It makes a colossal difference for people like me, who come to Israel without any belongings. It gives me peace of mind knowing you are there. Thank you so much.”
