Searching for Peace, Finding Something Else 

“I feel a dark entity come behind me. It sends a chill up my spine literally. And then I start seeing demons.” Brittany says it was questions about the future and fascination with the afterlife that compelled her to visit a tarot card reader and a psychic medium. “I've always been very interested in the spiritual in general and, wanting to know more about, what happens after you die. And so I went in and did it literally just thinking about it being a new experience and just for fun. He is telling me my past to a tee. they saw so many specific things that I had been through.”

Shortly after that visit, her life took a dark turn. She was pregnant with her third child when she began having horrific thoughts that scared her. She says, “There was just this cloud over the pregnancy the whole time. And when I had him, what I started feeling was I'd be walking down the stairs with my newborn baby and I would hear in my head, ‘drop the baby, kill the baby.’ And it would be three times a day I'd be swaddling him and I would hear, ‘smother the baby, kill the baby,’ and I'm just freaking out in my head because I'm like, I would never do these things. Why am I hearing these things? I'm an awful person. Like, why would I, why would these thoughts even enter my head?”

Desperate for the torment to end, and overwhelmed with despair, Brittany turned to God. She’d heard about God’s love growing up, now she saw him as her only lifeline. She says, “I got on my knees sobbing and saying, ‘I give this to you, Lord. I don't want to live anymore. I don't want to do this. If you if you can't fix this, I don't know what to do because I can't do this on my own anymore.’ It was really the start of my journey. Was just surrendering and being so, vulnerable and honest and just, you know, truly giving it to God.

Over the next few months Brittany realized the sadness and tormenting thoughts had stopped. She began seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus and joined a women’s small group. At two different meetings, friends told her they could see a spirit of witchcraft around her. “How is it still attached?” says Brittany, “And she said, ‘well, Matthew tells us that certain entities are only removed by prayer and fasting.’ And I had not fasted.

Brittany fasted and prayed for two days. Then late one night while on a work trip she experienced spiritual warfare throughout the night. “I feel a dark entity come behind me.” She says, “It sends a chill up my spine, literally. And then I start seeing demons. So they are three of them, and they're circling my head. And I can actually, I'm getting a vision that I can see my body in bed and I can see them floating. Circling my, my body. I'm terrified, I'm reaching out for Jesus, and I'm speaking his name and then I see Jesus's hands and he comes in, like, literally, it's so bright that. And I have my sleep mask on that I have, I, I felt like someone turned on the light in my room and Jesus spoke for the first time and he said just one word. He said, ‘authority’. And I said, ‘I cast you to the feet of Jesus.’ And as soon as I did that, I started convulsing and sweat started pouring, pouring from my entire body. I was in a pool of sweat.”

At that moment, she heard a crash in the bathroom as a soap dispenser was ripped from the wall. Brittany then saw one more vision of Jesus. She says, “I see his hands again, And he is stacking gold and I don't know what he's doing. And then I get a bird's eye view vision. And he is building a mansion, and he speaks again and he says, be patient. I'm making this perfect for you. And it was just the most emotional thing that's ever happened to me. It was Jesus's confirmation that that I was free of this, of the spirit of witchcraft. And it also was just like confirmation that, that he is building a place for me in heaven, Like, how incredible is that? Like, there's there was nothing better. It was the most incredible experience of my life for sure.”

Since that time Brittany has been free of tormenting thoughts and lingering spirits. She now warns people to guard their hearts and minds, so they don’t open themselves up to satanic forces. “This is actually called a familiar spirit.” She says, “It is a demon who is impersonating your loved ones. They can literally look however they want to. They can, they can see everything around us in this world, Jesus teaches us through his word that we do have the authority. He literally gives us authority over all of these entities and we literally can bind these entities to the feet of Jesus.”

Thankful for her new life and delivered from darkness, she wants everyone to know the power and love of God. “When they've experienced the peace and the blessings that God gives you, when you go fully in with him, there's just nothing like it.”
