It is vital we keep ourselves spiritually intelligent by studying, learning and knowing the Word of God. Here are some verses to help support the importance of continued spiritual learning.

The Benefits of Knowing God’s Word

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding – indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. NIV

Let us discern for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good. NIV

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, Lord. NIV

I will praise you with an upright heart as I learn your righteous laws. NIV

Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. NIV

Commands and Importance of Learning

Moses summoned all Israel and said: Hear, Israel, the decrees and laws I declare in your hearing today. Learn them and be sure to follow them. NIV

I give you sound learning, so do not forsake my teaching. NIV

Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. NIV

Now, brothers and sisters, I have applied these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, so that you may learn from us the meaning the saying, “Do not go beyond what is written.” Then you will not be puffed up in being a follower of one of us over against the other. NIV

Our people must learn to devote themselves to doing what is good, in order to provide for urgent needs and not live unproductive lives. NIV

Verses to Lead Your Children to Learn

Their children, who do not know this law, must hear it and learn to fear the Lord your God as long as you live in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess. NIV

But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. NIV

Those Given Learning

To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds. NIV

It is written in the Prophets: ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from him comes to me. NIV

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me – put it into practice and the God of peace will be with you. NIV
