Dialing for Deliverance

Pensi had put her last few dollars into a one way ticket because she knew she needed a fresh start.

“I had nothing more to lose!” recounts Pensi. “My husband left me. I had no real job to support myself. Maybe a new city could offer me something better.”

Despondent, she remembered her turbulent marriage and the constant fights. Now she was alone. Pensi longed for the comfort that she had felt watching CBN’s ministry program in Thailand called From Heart to Heart. In fact, she had become a frequent caller of CBN’s prayer counseling center.

“I always kept that telephone number with me especially for emergencies,” Pensi says.

Now in a new city, Pensi called the only friends she knew -- the prayer counselors at CBN. She was hoping and praying for a miracle.

“I was glad that she called us,” remembers CBN Siam staff member Gao. “Pensi sounded very desperate. She obviously did not know what to do next. I told her to put her faith in Jesus. Then we prayed.”

But CBN did more than just pray for Pensi that day. CBN met with her and provided her with food and a place to stay. Then CBN provided some gifts that will make it possible for Pensi to support herself and begin her life again.

“CBN gave me a motorbike, a mobile food stall, along with cooking utensils and capital to start my business,” exclaims Pensi.

And Pensi must be a pretty good cook because now she is making about $300 a month in her mobile restaurant -- enough to pay for rent and other living expenses.

Says Pensi, “I thank God for taking care of me during the darkest moments of my life. And I thank the people behind CBN’s From Heart to Heart for giving me another chance at life.
