In a world that values constant busyness, this devotion reminds us of the counterintuitive truth found in Hebrews 4:9-11—true rest is a gift from God, not something we earn. We all know that life on this earth is filled with hurts and sorrows. There’s no way to escape them, but we can choose how we will face them. God has promised to give us a heart of flesh in place of a heart of stone, but will we let Him?

Life can sometimes leave us feeling beaten down and discouraged. But God gives us a picture of a strong female warrior in Proverbs 31, to encourage us in every season. She is a godly woman who is wise, bold, strong, and courageous. I had been that woman once, and I wanted to be her again. So let’s take a new look at this passage.

This author describes spending over a month meditating on the powerful passage of Romans 8. She was primarily looking at The Message version because it so often breathes new life into well-known verses for her. Today, we deeply dive into the first two verses, which offer a unique glimpse at the freedom available in Christ and how to access it.

God rarely uses an audible voice and our part is just to be still and quiet enough to listen with our spiritual ears. His messages to us are too important to miss.
